Day Pause

We wake to different sounds.

Some to deafening silence, some to defeaning indifference.

Some to creeks babbling, some to bullets and bombs shattering the sunrise.

Some to the sounds of our lover stirring, some to the space of being alone to begin this day.

In every case there is a point where we pause between the unconscious and conscious, determining whether the dream was real or just beginning;

It's an inflection point.

The past hours having been spent in either blissful or tormented repose,

New dreams for the day ahead are launched or regret over dreams unrealized are remorsed.

Both propel us forward

Into the love that surrounds us, the love we've had and lost, the love we desire but will never touch, or the unknown love hurtling towards us.

All having our life as a reflection point either to meld and absorb or to bounce into new and mysterious adventures.

In any case, unintentionally pensive, we experience the Pause.

The Universe Paused this morning

To make sure that I saw the sunrise and the stillness of everything around me,

Preparing, relaxing, anticipating The Day.

A couple of years earlier I had spoken to the Trees and asked them to help me; I spoke the truth and made the request for guidance.

Between then and now, they sent lessons for me that I had to go through, not too tough but lessons nonetheless.

Then they sent me This Day.

The Pause was questioning, "Do you see the difference in the days?"

After I heard and felt the message, the birds resumed their singing, the sun continued its rise.

I think I just saw the tree limb wave in my direction, but I'm not going to get cocky,

Some lessons are meant to be good, to teach us what love is.

Some lesseons are to teach us we have been living where love isn't.

I've read that at the instant of conception there is a spark that can be witnessed, when new life begins.

I'm praying to the Trees for that spark when my feet touch the ground on This Day.
