Sunsets, waterfalls, and moonbeams

Billions of lives

Simultaneously happening, unaware of each other

Only the world sees us, or the Universe

Ants with purpose, mucking about

Pushing dirt, carrying drama and pretenses

Step back and be silent, watch,

The world doesn't stop because we do, because we are all a part of the dance, not just dancers.

Children at play in the world

We come and go

Along patterned lives

While the sun sets over Madagascar

Things play amidst our turmultuous lives

In the eddy currents of our dreams

We echo our desires against stone walls

The realities that surround us

Imaginary titles we chase

Idealistic goals hang before us

Carrots to lead the donkeys

While water rushes through the Congo

Dreamlike states

We exist in and live through

Trying to feel at ease with others

Overlooking the need to feel at ease with ourselves

Triumph and turmoil

Each bombards our senses

Pushes and pulls at our feelings

Riding over personal boundaries and our simple truths

Needing as children do

Consolation and reassurance

We are longing to be held lovingly

While moon beams creep over the Rockies

So too

As we dream and run

Through all the days of our lives
